My grandmother used to tell stories about how her family left the tiny highland village of Applecross, Scotland nearly two hundred years ago to make a new life in Canada. Having crossed another ocean to come and live in Australia, I wanted to bring with me something of the past to build on for the future. So Applecross Designs was born. These needlework kits reflect my long involvement and fascination with counted thread embroidery. Most designs are based on historic pieces and traditional patterns. Every kit includes fabric, threads, needle, chart, colour photo and full instructions. Prices are quoted in Australian dollars (great exchange rate for international customers), but the bank will accept most currencies for payment. I am always discovering and designing new patterns, so this website will be updated regularly. Please browse through the selection, enjoy the designs and make your choice.
